The Retail Site Selection Analyst is a critical position within the Valvoline Quick Lube Development Department. This role works closely with real estate managers, operations, marketing and franchisees for support of new store site selection. The Retail Site Selection Analyst is responsible for delivering forecasts, insight and guidance utilizing a mix of GIS skills supported by proprietary data and systems.
Executes site modelling processes, evaluates results and develops performance projections for site decision support
Evaluates proposed locations and leads site review discussions with Real Estate Managers and Franchise Operators
Provides guidance and insight to modelled performance.
Provides market research including analysis of store-level data, comparable stores and other variables correlated to performance
Supports and refines Franchisee territory reviews to achieve optimal store and network growth
Gathers, analyzes and interprets geographical, customer, and traffic pattern data to determine the cannibalization “impact” of proposed stores on the existing network
Performs ad hoc analysis to answer business inquiries
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, GIS or related field
Minimum 5 years professional GIS work experience, preferably in small box, multi-unit retail business
Knowledge of demographic statistics and psychographic segmentation
In-depth understanding of retail site selection process and analytics
Exceptional analytic skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively interpret and communicate data results
Excellent presentation skills
Capacity to work independently and within teams
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver results
Ability to utilize, manage, improve databases and GIS applications
Proficient in use of MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook and Word
