Since inception, our client has been involved with the development, construction, leasing and management of over 30 million square feet of retail including grocery-anchored shopping centers, neighborhood centers, single-tenant buildings, regional power centers and mixed-use developments. The team’s combined decades of experience with local, regional and national tenants includes such names as Academy Sports + Outdoors, Hobby Lobby, Sprouts Farmers Markets, Publix Supermarkets, Walgreens, Dollar General, Ross Dress for Less, Kohl’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, PetSmart and Target, to name a few. Our client is seeking a dynamic, motivated Leasing Associate with retail leasing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our national leasing team, under the direction of the Director of Leasing, based at the firm’s headquarters in Nashville, TN. This role supports leasing activities related to our client’s shopping center portfolio and diversified development portfolio which spans over 20 states. Successful candidates must have at least some past experience in retail leasing.
Act as a listing agent for assigned properties. This includes contacting potential tenants directly and working with outside brokers to lease available space.
Provide tenants and constituents within the company with pertinent information on leasing availability, current market conditions, property values and rental rates.
Accompany prospective tenants to show the property, review property features, leasing rates & terms
Prepare letters of intent, lease addendums, renewals, amendments and other correspondence to existing and prospective tenants (using standard company templates and verbiage).
Review tenant leases for key requirements and relay pertinent information to the tenant in a professional, timely and courteous manner.
Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, property values, and comparable properties.
Develop and implement marketing campaigns, prospecting for new tenants through networking, researching, and cold-calling.
Participate in contract negotiations, related due diligence and qualify prospective tenants.
Build and maintain positive, mutually-beneficial relationships with tenants through consistent contact, including at ICSC conferences across the country.
Generate a high volume of tenant leads and develop strategic leasing plans.
Coordinate each deal internally with development, legal and construction teams.
At least some experience working as a Retail Leasing Associate is preferred.
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
