This position is responsible for leading the merchandising and leasing initiatives for a portfolio of the Company-owned and third-party assets. This individual will direct the leasing activities for the Company while providing training and mentorship for the leasing team direct reports. This person is a key member of the Leadership team and will have an influence on overall company strategy.
PRINCIPAL JOB ACTIVITIES:
Lead the merchandising and leasing strategy development for the assigned portfolio and by individual asset based on a thorough understanding of each market and property. Ensure resources available to implement strategy and that performance meets or exceeds established goals.
Manage, train, and mentor leasing team direct reports to develop company leaders.
Develop and maintain external client relations; represent the Leasing discipline in critical internal and/or external client meetings.
Direct the leasing team direct reports for assigned projects to ensure annual budget requirements are set appropriately and delivered with an improved tenant mix.
Meet or exceed leasing fee budgets for assigned projects
Implement leasing marketing strategies for assets with assistance from marketing.
Manage leasing staff direct reports inclusive of an Administrative Assistant and other external sales/broker professionals.
Assist in identifying and securing new revenue opportunities for the company, including expanding services within existing clients and/or sourcing business with new clients via a third-party or joint-venture relationship.
Assist the Acquisitions team with the analysis needed to potentially acquire new assets
Direct and manage Leasing process and procedures including technology-related systems and reporting for internal and external use.
7-10+ years of related commercial retail leasing experience with an emphasis on big-box retail (10K+ sf)
Real Estate and/or a Broker’s License preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills; experience managing leasing personnel and leasing processes
Ability to close deals – high revenue producer; proven high performer with breadth and depth of tenant relationships
Bachelor’s degree, preferably business oriented (MBA preferred)
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to interface with internal teams and external clients (retailers and owners)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Manage time effectively in order to accomplish goals
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
