About this Opportunity: Regency Centers is seeking a Summer Intern to join our regional office located in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This internship is designed to expose students to the investment, development, and repositioning of commercial real estate through hands-on experience and training. Assignments given will include a mix of performing daily tasks while shadowing one or more experienced real estate professionals and completing or assisting with assigned work projects. This internship will involve working approximately 40 hours per week at $16 per hour for a duration of approximately 8 weeks.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and attend development meetings with the development team to include investments, project management, leasing, property operations, and marketing
Coordinate and follow up with outside consultants (i.e., architects and engineers)
Prepare and monitor budgets in coordination with project management teams
Participate in the entitlement process, including meetings with City/County staff to negotiate outstanding issues, creating presentations for public forums, assist in tracking the fulfillment of entitlement proffers and conditions
Create internal presentations for project updates and approvals
Track project schedules and monitor progress and delays
Work with financial analysts to keep project specific economic models up to date
Research new markets, projects and retailers
Must be a student in good standing at an accredited college or university, currently enrolled in an undergraduate major at a Junior level or higher
College GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application
Intermediate level proficiency or higher with current Microsoft Office software (including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and Internet research functionality
Ability to learn new programs and software quickly
Be enrolled in an industry-related degree program such as Real Estate or Business
Demonstrated interest in the real estate industry
Capable of precise written and verbal communication
Strong attention to detail
Strong time management, priority setting, and organizational skills
Trustworthy and able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately
Interpersonal savvy including the ability to work within a team environment and take direction from different sources
